Combining FX with character animation can be tricky. Most animators specialize in either character animation or effects animation, rarely do you have an artist very proficient in both. Here we have character anatomy literally morphing into what is considered to be effects animation elements. Well rounded animators who are highly skilled in both areas are a pleasure to watch and analyze their work.
